Valentyn Zagariya, Managing Partner at Spenser & Kauffmann Law Firm participated in the hundredth UBA’s Board meeting

On June 5, 2014 anniversary hundredth UBA’s Board meeting took place.  As a reminder, Valentyn Zagariya, Managing Partner at Spenser & Kauffmann Law Firm held position of President of the Ukrainian Bar Association from 2011 to 2013. Under his management main postulates of the organization were successfully implemented, especially independence from political influence of the government, protection of the professional rights, educational and legal activities for lawyers.

Working part of the meeting included discussion of the proposals regarding renewal UBA’s Board of trustees, approval of elections’ results on UBA’s committees’ chairmen and their deputies, consideration of the proposals on improving legislation and discussions regarding amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Bar and legal profession”, that was suggested by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

Valentyn Zagariya commented on anniversary of UBA’s Board meeting: “Hundredth Board meeting in a row is remarkable and prestigious event, as an indicator of the organization’s importance and the role it plays. As a President in retirement I’m happy about the Association’s activities, which are dynamic and consolidate professionals whose number is growing. What is more important is the Association always remains unbiased and politically impartial, and lawyer’s interests are still a top priority to UBA”.
